My Complaint

The oracle that Habakkuk the prophet saw.
How long, Lord, must I call for help and you not listen?
Or cry out to You about violence and you do not save?
Why do You force me to look at injustice?
Why do you to,erase wrongdoing?
Oppression and violence are right in front of me.
Strife is ongoing, and conflict escalates.
This is why the law is ineffective and justice never emerges.
For the wicked restrict the righteous;
Therefore justice comes out perverted.
Habakkuk 1:1-4

Sound familiar? I smiled when I began to read the text, I thought to myself, ' I am going to enjoy this, this man sounds like us.'

I have experienced nigh on 11 years of travail, rejection, illness either myself, my mother or one of my children or grandchildren; struggles with finance and the list goes on. However, only recently I knew I had a breakthrough.

Now, stuff still happens: my mother goes in for surgery at 83 for another suspected cancer; today my son went to hospital in agony and discovered he had diverticulitis; my country is in drought; the market is being threatened at every turn; the government cannot have bills passed which would lighten my load, instead it appears to weigh heavier and there is more, which I will not bore you with. But amidst it all, my God is there and He is working everything out for good, He is in charge. Amen!

We can stack up the problems and bemoan them and caress them, that is in effect what we do when we spend too much time talking about them, they are not mine, they are my God's.

Our world is in chaos, we are threatened by terrorism, market collapses, Ebola. If we keep our eyes on our Lord, they are all Insignificant. Amen!
