Boasting

For we don't dare classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. But in measuring themselves by themselves and comparing themselves to themselves, they lack understanding. We, however, will not boast beyond the measure of the area of ministry that God has assigned to us, which reaches even to you. 2 Cor 10:12,13

This is very insightful. If I judge myself by myself, thus also is wrong, as wrong as judging myself according to others. Paul goes on the say in verse 17: so the one who boasts must boast in the Lord.

My God is the judge and it is His opinion that counts. If I puff myself up judging myself to be something I am not, I fail. If I judge myself to be a worm, I fail. What does the Word of God say about me? This is the truth about me.

At times I will boast, and I pray that the boast is in what Christ is doing in me. He is my strength and my song. He is my blessing and abundance, He is my wisdom and insight. Amen!

I must first see myself as God sees me, function in what He wants for me and boast of what He is doing in me. Amen!
