Taking Pride in Stuff

Some take pride in chariots, others in horses, but I take pride in the name of Yahweh, the Lord of hosts. Psalm 20:7

It is so easy to take pride in stuff we accumulate when the only treasure worth boasting about is knowing and being known by the lord of Hosts.

I tend to boast about the 7 grandchildren I have, as they are the best, in my humble opinion. However the one who made them is better. Little Ollie, who is two, has finally become friends with me, on my last visit. We played Lego blocks together, he came alive. Today as I was leaving he came running out to say goodbye. I noticed and to me that is special.

I have a Heavenly Father who notices when I notice Him and comes running. It was hard to say goodbye today but I will recover. Being a sookey female I am inclined to be emotional. Being home, by myself, will take adjusting but I have been looking forward to this so that I can spend more time with the Lord. I want to see His outcome, His plans and His ways. They are best. To find them I like to spend time seeking them. I know when I find my God, all is well. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
