All Can Give a Little
After him Uzziel son of Harhaiah, the goldsmith, made repairs, and next to him Hahahiah son of the perfumer made repairs. They restored Jerusalem as far as the broad wall. Nehemiah 3:8
Have you ever heard: "No! That's not my job!" Or "that's not my trade!" It seems that not such excuse was given here. A goldsmith and a perfumers son were happy to be involved.
Last Sunday we heard a message about all being involved, a call was made for people to enlist for the work of preparing our church building for renovation. I drew up the paperwork and waited. Not many came forward. One young man and his wife came forward. I remembered thinking, "I wonder what you do in your working life."
No matter what we do outside of church, we are all a part of the body of Christ and therefore all important. I am goin along and I have a desk job. My working life does not define all that I am. All that I am lies waiting to be discovered.
I know that the day of the working bee will be fun and full of fellowship. My grass has slowed down in its growth and so I now have more time. How good is that! Amen!
