God's Hand

Look I will make Jerusalem a cup that causes staggering for the people's who surround the city. The siege against Jerusalem will also involve Judah. On that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who try to lift it will injure themselves severely when all the nations of the earth gather against her. Then each of the leaders of Judah will think to himself: the residents of Jerusalem are for my strength through the Lord of Hosts, their God. On that day I will make the leaders of Jerusalem like a firepot in a woodpile, like a flaming torch among the sheaves; they will consume all the peoples on the left and right, while Jerusalem continues to be inhabited on its site in Jerusalem. Zechariah 12:2-6

When God is on your side, who can stand against you? If God be for me, who can be against me?Romans 8:31

The leaders realise that even the weak residents of Jerusalem are better when God empowers them, than the enemies that come against them. We cannot under-estimate our value or the value of others.

Today I sought out the owner of two horses I felt I needed to help last night by bringing them water. I went to one house and was directed to a shack next door. An old man with food down his front answered the door. I told him my dilema. Initially he sounded old and helpless but as soon as we started talking horses, obviously his love, he straightened up. He owned paddocks at the back of his shack with beautiful horses in them. He was amazed that I a total stranger should care. He did not own the horses in question and we had a chat around as to whether I was interfering or of help.

After I left the man I drove by the paddock and found that the horses I was concerned about did have access to water, I did not see it last night in the dark. Never mind. I was meant o go to visit the little old man. I showed him respect and talked to him, not at him. I pray God uses my stumblings for His glory. Amen!

Never underestimate an individual, you do not know where they have been or what they have done in this life. Never judge a book by its cover. Amen!
