The Olive Trees
I asked him, "What are the two olive trees on the right and left of the lamp stand?" And I questioned him further, "what are the two olive branches beside the two gold conduits, from which the golden oil pours out?" And he inquired of me, "Don't you know what they are?"
"No, my lord," I replied.
"These are the two anointed ones," he said, "who stand by the Lord of the whole earth." Zechariah 4:11-14
Imagine an angel asking this: "why I thought you would know, how come you don't know? Your God has a special thing going on with you guys and hey! You're a prophet, aren't you supposed to know?"
I love Zechariah's boldness. I am inclined to be like that and so I relate. He is totally honest and sees no problem with his questions.
Now, do you think the angels explanation makes any sense? No? Well golly! Imagine that!
My commentary surmises the two anointed ones are Joshua and Zerubbabel. Could be, perhaps! If so what an honour! Wouldn't you like to have that said about you? I would!
Today as I was leaving a shop, after buying material to make baby kangaroos pouches, as they lost the I mums in the fire in Western Australia, the Lord whispered to me, "I love you!" I said, "do you?" And the reply was, "Yes of course!"
The reason I asked was it was totally out of the blue. Perhaps He likes kangaroos too.
Tonight I went for a walk and found a new road which my dogs and I loved. Below is a shot of an old barn. We had two horses come up and want to say hi. That was nice. Isn't it amazing where you find yourself if not in front of the TV! Ah! Much better!
