What Can I Give My God?
"Since the days of your father's, you have turned from my statutes, you have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you," says the Lord of Hosts. But you ask:" How can we return?"
"Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me!"
You ask: "How do I rob You?" By not making the payments of the tenth and the contributions. You suffer under a curse, yet you still rob Me. Bring the full tenth into the storehouse so that there may be food in My house. Test Me in this way, says the Lord of Hosts. See if I will not open the floodgates of Heaven and pour out a blessing for you without measure. I will rebuke the devoured for you, so that it will not ruin the produce of your land and your vine in the filed will not fail to produce fruit," says the Lord of Hosts.
Whilst we do not live under the curse of the law there are truths in this passage. Our giving supports the ministry of the church and honours our God. When I give I give to Him and look to Him for His protection and blessing.
Abraham was not under law yet he was the first recorded giver of the tenth. If you look at Abraham's life he was a blessed man who had a heart for his God. He leaned into His God and made Him friend and Lord.
The Lord led Abraham and gently brought him to receive a promised son when he was 100. If God can use a 100 year old man who loved his God what can He do with me, with you.
Dare to believe, dare to trust and watch what God can do. Amen!
