Who Will You Serve?

Now before this, Eliashib the priest had been put in charge of the storerooms of the house of God. He was a relative of Tobiah and had prepared a large room for him where they had previously stored grain offerings,  the frankincense, the articles, and the tenth grain, new wine, and oil prescribed for the Levites, singers, and gatekeepers, along with the contributions for the priests.
While all this was happening, I was not in Jerusalem, because I had returned to King Artaxeres of Babylon in the 32 ne year of his reign. Nehemiah 13:4-6

The first thing that comes to mind is, why did not the people who Nehemiah left in charge deal with this? Why was the situation allowed to become so bad. By the actions of Eliashib in using a room designated for offerings for the enemy of Jerusalem, the offerings were not given and so the priests went back to the villages. Therefore the temple was not functioning as it should.

If I am the temple of he Holy Ghost and I allow an enemy to live in my life it also causes a discordance in my life. I fool myself if I think sin will not harm me. James tells us that we are hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. Therefore when we need faith for a miracle it is not there because our heart are hard and we are living in the flesh.

We cannot serve two masters we will either love one and hate the other or vice versa. We must choose this day who we will serve and serve wholeheartedly! Amen!
