Don't refuse Him!

Jesus spoke to them again saying, "the Kingdom of Heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. He sent his servants to those who had been invited and they refused to come.
Matthew 22:1-3

Again Jesus is talking about His people the children of Israel refusing His Father's invitation to come to Jesus.

Today I went to see an old client. He is about to turn 80 and still claims to be an atheist. He doesn't like church and had a son die when he was young. He says he does not blame God but then went on to say, "If there was a God why did He let my son die?"

Sounds to me like He does blame God. I told him that when he dies, which he is constantly going on about, that it is not over but the beginning of eternity. I asked him what he would say if he stood before the Lord, who he refused to believe in and discovered He was the most beautiful thing his eyes had ever seen. He replied, "well then I would know I had made a mistake." I said, "living without that most beautiful God is more than you could bear, for ever and ever. He shrugged his shoulders.

His wife believes and goes to church but all her prayers have gone unanswered. I pray that God takes my feeble words and creates a white hot sword that will not leave. I pray that my Jesus visits Him, just as He did me. I want to see my friend in eternity. Amen!

Know Your Sword!

So he took Him to Jerusalem, had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, "if you are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here. Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
