They Sinned Against Me!!

If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you and if he listens to you, you have won a brother over. If he doesn't listen to you take along two witnesses and if he still does not listen to you tell the church. Matthew 18:15-17

I have paraphrased this scripture as I am sitting in a pathology lab with my mother as she has a blood test.

I have had literal brothers and sisters sin against me and have not dealt with things as scripture suggests. I have allowed the injury and gone away to lick my wounds. I have need to speak about the wrong done to me, to them.

Choosing a right time is important and choosing to speak at all is important. I must first make sure it is not my problem and it actually is a 'sin against me.'

Where we fall down is speaking to others about it first and inflaming others against the sinner. As I have been inflamed by friends against their others until I discovered the truth I am slow to take up the offense of a friend or family member.

However, having said all this I know I am human and sin myself and so I must be gracious but not to the point of self- destruction.

Lord forgive me for my inappropriate handling of offense against me. Amen!

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son?
