Two Sons

What do you think? There was a man who had two sons.
He went to the first and said, "I want you to go into the vineyard today and work," and the son said, "I will not go," yet later he changed his mind and went.
He went to the second son and said the same thing and this son said, "I will go," but did not go.
"Which of these two did what the father wanted?" "The first," they answered.
Jesus answered them, " I tell you the truth, tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the Kingdom of Heaven ahead of you. For John came to show you the way of righteousness but you did not believe him but the tax collectors and prostitutes did, and even after you saw this you did not repent and believe him. Matthew 21:28-32

The hearts of the scribes and Pharisees had grown cold. James tells us our hearts are hardened by the deceitful was of sin. If you were to tell the Pharisees they were sinners they would have been horrified. Yet what was their sin? They had been deceived to believe that their brand of righteousness was Gods. They assumed they knew God better than Jesus Himself. Pride in one's righteousness leads to arrogance and arrogance leads all manner of deceptions.

Blindness to the state of our heart leads us to sin in secret. It starts small but gradually grows and overtakes us. This is how pedophillia exists in the church.

An encounter with Jesus is the only solution, allowing Him to confront us, allowing Him to be Lord, now there is a thought. Amen!
