The Son Revealed
In those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptised in the Jordan by John. As soon as He came out of the water, He saw the heavens torn open and the Spirit descending to Him like a dove.
And a voice came from heaven:
"You are My beloved Son, I take delight in You."
Immediately the Spirit drove Him into the wilderness. He was in the wilderness 40 days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and the Angels began to serve Him. Mark 1:9-13
Jesus. Amen to be baptised, around 60 miles on foot. As soon as He came out of the water the Holy Spirit and the Father show up and fill Him and endorse Him, but then the Holy Spirit drives Him into the wilderness. This word 'drove' is a very strong word usually used for driving out demons.
In other words Jesus did not have much of an option. The wilderness was where He must be to redeem history. The children of Israel who up to this time was the only 'son' of God, failed miserably in the wilderness but Jesus, the new Son' passes with flying colours.
Just as the Angels had ministered to Elijah in the wilderness, so they did to Jesus.
If God treated His beloved Son like this, why do you expect to be exempt from hard times? We must face the enemy of our soul. The Spirit of God will be with us and His angels will minister to us, if we just trust and yield. Amen!
