He Watches the Giving!
Sitting across from the temple treasury, He watched how the crowd dropped money into the treasury. many rich people put in large sums, and a poor widow came and dropped in two tiny coins worth very little. Summoning his disciples, he said to them, "This poor widow has put in more than all those giving to the temple treasury. For they gave out of their surplus, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she possessed- all she had to live on." Mark 12:41-44
I find it interesting that Jesus sat watching people giving at church. I wonder what He would see at my church. Nowadays many give on-line well before church but this tends to make it ok for everyone to pass the bucket and not put in. Perhaps I should go back to giving on Sundays and be an example.
On Sunday I was listening to the message on Faith but also thinking on how to give more. There was a time when I gave the first part of my business income but got into trouble with the accountant and told it had to come out after tax, out of my pocket. My faith was being stirred and I am formulating the next round of Rise and Build giving. Let the fun begin!
I want all of God's best, not just enough, but more than enough for every good work.
