Rich in Attitude

Command those who are rich in this world not to be arrogant nor put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides everything for our enjoyment.
Command them to do good and be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truely life. 1 Tim 6:17-19

I am grateful to live in this current age where several of the rich live to give, they are a part of the hope for the barren, down and destitute. Those who have embraced philanthropy have much fuller lives.

Living just to spend on our own lusts and desires is futile. Just as the prodigal son discovered, living for lust is empty and without lasting fruit.

Eternity is a long, long time and if we wish to enjoy it then we need to be wise with what God has given us in this life.

We are not here to waste time on pleasures and things. We cannot take one thing with us and if eternal life is not in us now, it never will be.

If we are rich in this life then we need to live with a good perspective of eternity. What would God have us do with what He has given us?

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
