Being Old and Still Having Faith
By faith even Sarah herself, when she was unable to have children, received power to conceive offspring, even though she was past the age, since she considered that the One who has promised was faithful. Thereford from one man-in fact, from one as good as dead- came offspring as numerous as the stars of heaven and as innumerable as the grains of sand by the seashore. Hebrews 11:11,12
Well now! This chickie can identify with Sarah and Abraham, no I am not as old as they were when they had a baby but one gets to an age when you know age is catching up. Today I had a physio appointment as I am again injured. After two episode of fast swimming on two separate days my legs are still on fire, tingling and very much not at rest. The news was not good. And then there is my right shoulder that, many years ago, I had a rotator cuff tear. I was told that this leaves the shoulder with only three of the four anchoring muscles working and they are struggling to stop the ball joint slipping around in the socket. It is now sore as well. I was basically told, no more flat out stints, do weights for the bones and take it easy in the pool, after a week off.
Guess what? I am relieved! I want to slow down and enjoy strengthening exercise, not cardio. Mind you I will still climb my hill, when able. It does give a good cardio work out. My elbows are also very sore. So, you might say my limbs are on fire. Not good in the middle of the night. Ouch!
However, today I had a follow-up meeting with the Skate Park committee. Initially there were only three of us and then six young men turned up, oh Joy! I am so happy! They love what I am doing and the other two adults helping me are committed and love the kids. Awesome!
