Faith Has Power

These all died in faith without having received the promises, but they saw them from afar, greeted them, and confessed that they were foreigners and temporary residents on the earth. Now those who say such things make it clear make it clear that they are seeking a homeland. If they were thinking about where they came from, they would have had an opportunity to return. But they now desire a better place-a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them. Hebrews 11:13-15

What did all of these have in common?
1) they had a relationship based on love for their God, love crew them, compelled them, encouraged them
2) they saw something worth walking towards, something drew them
3) they embraced what they saw and if filled them with hope
4) they accepted that they were strangers in the land, they did not try and adapt to the point of losing their identity and vision
5) they did not look back and think of where they came from
6) they did not receive in this life the fulfilment of their vision

Sarah died having only had one son, after her death Abraham had more children. Abraham died not seeing the number of ancestors God promised: they will be as many as the stars in the sky.
Noah saw his family saved from the flood but I imagine it would have been hard to stand on dry land, knowing everything had perished but what he had with him, and believing that humankind would again cover the earth. Enoch walked with God for three hundred and sixty five years, what was the dream in his heart?

I look at my life an know I have a dream that is coming to pass but yet unfulfilled. Can I leave it? No! It's power draws me on, compels me. I am driven by this dream. Gods love and passion is upon me. I cannot let up or walk away from it. I can always give up things that I drive but not things God drives. His vision has power in it and I am a part of Him and He is a part of me.
