Giving Pleasure to Our God

For yet in a very little while the a Coming One will come and not delay.
But my righteous one will live by faith; and if he draws back, I have no pleasure in him.
But we are not those who draw back and are destroyed, but those who have faith and obtain life. Hebrews 10:37-39

The Lord responds to faith, is looking or faith in His people. Can we surprise Him? Hardly, bless Him? Yes! If you have been a parent you will understand. Imagine a little three year old excitedly running into your bedroom saying: 'daddy bike, daddy bike!' and looking at you with wide eyed expectation. Now you may be tired but the delight of your little one calling your name thrills you and you make an effort to get up and go with your child who is desperately wanting to learn to ride.

Our Father delights in His children calling His name and wanting to grow in areas of our life, calling upon His aid and expecting Him to be there. We are meant to stretch, grow and change not sit and stagnate in front of the TV watching others live.

We gave our earthly fathers pleasure  by calling upon them and delighting in them being involved in our lives, our Heavenly Father is far more interested in His children, constantly thinking of us.

Today is His day, delight in Him, worship Him! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
