Jesus was Like His Brothers in Every Way
He had to be like His brothers in every way, so that He could become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For since He Himself was tested and has suffered, He is able to help those who are tested. Hebrews 2:17,18
If Jesus came as 'all God,' He could not experience what we do and we could then dismiss His understanding and offer. Yet He was all man, and all God at the same time. He was sorely tempted in all ways we are tempted but did not yield.
It appeared he was taken advantage of, used and abused, but it was part of a plan. He was the perfect lamb that was to be slain to pay the price, once and for all. Satan thought he had won. Imagine the shock at finding that Jesus was invading his territory and had authority to liberate all the captives.
Jesus is worthy to be trusted, relied upon and yielded to. He is a far better Lord than we can ever be. Our sin-riddled lives are want to be selfish and prone to mistreat others in the protection of self. Whereas He lay down His life and loved us, the unlovely, without reason. Praise Him!
Tonight I discovered that an idea I had presented in a competition has been taken and used by those with more money than I. What to do? I remind myself that my Jesus appeared to lose but won a greater victory. He will show me the way. Amen!
