What a High Priest!

So Jesue has also become the guarantee of a better covenant. Now many have become Levitical priests, since they are prevented by death from remaining in office. But because He remains forever, He holds His priesthood permanently.
Therefore He is always able to save those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them. Hebrews 7:22-25

How wonderful is He? What a comfort it is to know He will never die, be replaced, move on. He will always remain and continue to intercede for me. Than You Lord!

We are watching hundreds of thousands escape from their homeland Syria because of persecution. Those who are meant to protect them, failed them and they have run looking for safety. The problem they are still facing is: who will that be? Who will care and who will protect?

My country Australia is up in arms wanting the government to 'do something!' What is needed is that we, the individuals, do something. We must choose what sacrifice we are willing to make to accomodate these people. Are we prepared to be uncomfortable for a time? Give up benefits for a time? Are we? We cannot demand that the government does all the work without making a sacrifice ourselves, we as a collective must more and move together.

Yet after all this, the people fleeing have a high priest who will guard them and care for them. He will open doors for hem and make a way where there is no way.

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
