What Is His Passions?

Don't neglect to do what is good and to share, for God is pleased with such sacrifices. Hebrews 13:16

When we are centred in Christ we are filled with passion for the good He would have us do. When we are only loosely connected we devise our own version of 'good' and stress about fulfilling that good.

Over the years I have head many 'good projects,' some are God inspired, but again that does not mean it is where He is guiding me. I am learning to not push against a closed door. If the door is not open for me then that is not where He would have me. There are so many good ideas, but what is God wanting me to be involved in?

We can be intimidated by the passion of others, feel cold and unfeeling because we are not on board with their vision. We have to realise that the body of Christ is a vast organism and God uses different parts to fulfill different tasks. If my heart belongs to Christ then I can trust Him for His direction.

Seek Him for His passion for you, don't float along or don't be pushed by others, find Him! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
