Why Should I Endure?
Therefore, since we also have such a large crowd of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every weight and sin that so easily besets. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfected of our faith, who for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame and has sat down at the right hand of God's throne.
For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself so that you won't grow weary and lose heart. In struggling against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. Hebrews 12:1-4
The sacrifice of all who have been mentioned in chapter 11 and also our Lord has been so huge. How could I not appreciate and feel a part of something so great. I am being watched, saints are watching me to see how I, a born again believer walk, when they only had faith for such a day.
Jesus pushed through the pain, disgrace and fear for me so that I could endure, He made a way for me to endure. I cannot quit, back out, turn away from such love.
This is deep and so full of love. The saints that went before were real people, not picture book heroes. They matter! Jesus matters! He paid for my freedom, the best I can do for Him is love Him in return and stay faithful and committed to the end,
There will come a day when we all stand before Him, I want to look at Him, not my feet because of shame.
