The seventy returned with joy saying, "Lord, even the demons submit to us in Your name."
He said to them, "I watched Satan fall from heaven like a lightning flash. Look, I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy; nothing will ever harm you. However, don't rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven." Luke 10:17-20
We often do not know the effect our obedience has on the kingdom of darkness. Obedience and submission to the teachings of Christ are the way to release the power of God. The kingdom of God is: righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirt. If our obedience releases peace and joy and true righteousness into our darkened world, won't those around us rejoice, for we bring them good?
As I walk close to the Lord I see myself painting my world with the blood of Christ. I am redeeming it, one piece at a time and cleansing the atmosphere. Conversely if I walk in selfishness I destroy and bring turbulence. In the a Old Testament God said to His people, "today I put life and death before you, choose life that you might live." Two options, no variations, no half dead half living, alive or dead.
