Judgement Day

As He approached Jerusalem and saw the city, He wept over it and said, "If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace- but now it is hidden from your eyes. The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side. They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognise the time of God's coming to you. Luke 19:41-44

Because of the hardness of heart, Jerusalem was, in the coming years besieged just as Jesus had predicted. Hardness of heart will be judged by the Lord, in His way, and in His time.

I remember an elderly woman who dressed like a queen. I shared the gospel with her on many occasions but she refused. Her end was not good, her eternity even worse. I have watched people die horrible deaths all because they clung to bitterness, hatred, right to judge, and criticism.

We each are given so many chances to repent and turn to God, yet there comes a day when the grace is gone. The very city Jesus cried over was about to hand Him over to the Romans to be crucified. They were determined to stomp out the light of the world. Of course they failed and in so doing lost their only hope.

For those who choose to follow Christ, eternal life is given, but, best of all is a relationship with Him. Amen!
