Pay Your Obligations

For government is God's servant, an avenger that brings wrath on the one who does wrong. Therefore, you must submit, not only because of wrath, but also because of your conscience. And for this reason you pay your taxes, since the authorities are God's public servants, continually attending to these tasks. Pay your obligations to everyone: taxes to those you owe taxes, tolls to those you owe tolls, respect to those you owe respect, and honour to those you owe honour. Romans 13:4b-7

We submit not because of fear, but because of conscience. We are children of God. Jesus Himself paid His taxes, yes He worked a miracle as to the provision of the funds, but He paid His taxes.

God's people are not to walk around with a victim mentality, but rather a Victor's mentality. As a victor how can I bless my community, my country?

We don't bless to get, we bless because it is right to bless. We don't give to receive, we give because it releases us.

We are the light of the world. We need to shine our light, not hide it under a bushell and act like we are wronged and mistreated. Wash your face and step out as a child of God, the victor you are called to be. Sing a new song, a song of victory, a song of ascent. We are going up, not down, we are going over, not under. Let's discover the way. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
