Apart From Him, I am Nothing

Brothers, consider your calling: not many are wise from a human perspective, not many are powerful, not many of noble birth. Instead God has chosen what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen what is weak in the world to shame the strong. God has chosen what is insignificant and despised in the world- what is viewed as nothing- to bring to nothing what is viewed as something, so that no one can boast in His presence.
But it is from Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became God-given wisdom for us-our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption, in order that, as it is written: 'The one who boasts must boast in the Lord.' 1 Cor 1: 26-31

Oh how I know this scripture in myself. God chose a path for me that is filled with high flying salesmen and women, I am not. What I have is a heart that cares for my clients. What I have is despised because it has not made me rich monetarily but made me rich in relationships.

Yet, this is the path he has me on and I am grateful. Those He gives me to love I enjoy and there is not much I would not do for them. I would not lie or cheat for them.

I am in Christ Jesus and I trust Him that in eternity, in His kingdom, my gift is important. He is my righteousness, He is my sanctification, He is my redemption. He is my all. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
