Be Sweet

Pleasant words are a honeycomb: sweet to the taste and health to the body.
Proverbs 16:24 HCSB

Ever wanted to lash out and reply harshly to someone who annoys you or someone who represents a stuff up, especially in big business or government? I am sure you have. Now, imagine yourself as the person who is an employee of said business. How do you wish people would speak to you? With respect, with patience?

Each time we withold the lash, we sow into our field. What we sow, we reap a harvest of, pressed down, shaken together, running over, poured into our laps. Want a storm? No? Then don't create one. Want peace? Want respect? Sow peace, sow respect. Amen!

Our annoyance will push us to the lash. The annoyance the Pharisees felt towards Jesus drove them to the lash and murder on the cross. We kill people's reputation with our tongues all because we are annoyed. Not good! Not life giving. Not righteous. Amen!
