Flesh adn Spirit
However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, then the spiritual.
The first man was from the earth and made of dust; and the second man from heaven.
Like the man made of dust, so are those who made of dust:
Like the heavenly man, so are those who are heavenly.
And just as we have borne the image of the man from dust,
we will also bear the image of the heavenly man.
Brother, I tell you this: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God,
and corruption cannot inherit incorruption. 1Cor 15:46-50
I was born into the flesh, but living in the flesh was disastrous for me, full of frustrations and unfulfillment and a longing for my God.
Being born again brought me into life, a life in the Spirit. The thought of having to stay in such lostness, without Christ is unbearable.
As a born again individual I bear the image of Christ. I have access to the Holy Spirit, the life He gives, the comfort, the companionship He gives.
The first image is what the world seeks to maintain with endless potions, up-lifts, gym membership, but in the end it will disappear, only the spirit will remain. As a now spiritual being I have a hope and a future in eternity. It is this spirit man I spend time working on, more than my flesh, that I may enjoy my eternity with Christ. That I will know Him well and He will want to spend time with me. Amen
