Mocker or Humble??
He mocks those who mock, but gives grace to the humble.
Proverbs 3:34 HCSB
A mocker is a proud, self-reliant person who esteems themself above the need for God, in fact this person has times of thinking they do not need God. Much like Lucifer before he fell. He exalted himself above the North. He was beautiful and became enamoured with his own beauty. The mocker shares the same spirit. It is a type of anti-Christ.
The humble spurit is the antitthesis of this spirit. It recognises a need for God, ties itself to God, totally reliant on Him and willing to lay down ego and self-effort. Willing to follow and not lead, willing to bow before One greater and place total trust in the One. Amen!
Now we see above what God does with each of these people: He stands against the proud and gives beautiful grace to the humble. One who has experienced grace will choose it every time. Yet a proud heart does not know or recognise it, until it has been broken, then it will have a choice; will it lay down self and ask for more mercy or will it turn away and strive in self-effort again? There is the dilemma. Which one are you?
