Suffering on Purpose
So those who suffer according to God's will should, while doing what is good, entrust themselves to a faithful creator. 1Peter 4:19
In the next chapter Peter tells of being a witness to Jesus' suffering. Peter saw the self-control, the determination to not lash back at the horde of hateful religious leaders who were determined to do away with Jesus.
The above scripture flies in the face of the term; "fair." We can see that such a desire was not in Christ. He was here to serve and lay down His life so that we could be redeemed. This begs us to think what our suffering can avail. It will not be wasted, it will be used by God for His glory.
Jesus entrusted Himself to the Father, I can do that. He has a plan and He wants to use faithful servants for His purposes. I can be that. Amen!
