Stay Confident
September 19
So don’t throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you need endurance, so that after you have done God’s will, you may receive what was promised.
Hebrews 10:35-36 HCSB
This morning i awake with a threatrning head cold. Yesterday we left Annapurna Base Camp and travelled hard most of the day to arrive at new accomodation at 6 pm. We had gotten up at 4.40am to view the mountains and by the time I arrived at new venue my eye were struggling to stay open, my legs, surprisingly had fuel to go but my feet were sore from the pummelling they received of the uneven rock surfaces for most of the trek.
A warm shower and a hearty meal of Dal Blat and off to bed. This time I slept well with only a few waking spurts. I had left my phone on charge overnight in the kitchen and that was locked for the night. I had no idea of the time, only that it was not light yet. Finally getting back to sleep and dreaming a mixed bag of dreams, all nonsense, i awoke to daylight.
The above scripture is one i needed today, especially as it is my favourite. I know i face a hard day with the sixty million steps (i should count them). I spoke over myself on the way to Annapurna that i would be much fitter on the return journey. This is coming to pass. I have endured such a trial but there was a goal- but what if I can, to be close to the mountains. On my return there is a goal- to finish the race and receive the prize. I have promised myself a paraglide over Pokrah as a finishing prize.
Finishing life well we will face our God and the ultimate prize- closeness to Him and eternal life. Now that is one prize I refuse to relinquish. He is my all. He gives me strength to carry on. Amen!
