The Source of Life
Guard your heart above all else, for it is the source of life.
Proverbs 4:23 HCSB
I am awake early as a local rooster is crowing. It gives me the opportunity to spend time in reflection and seek God.
Today I am praying about the way forward. My travelling companion has adopted 7 Nepali boys and is paying for them to come treking with us. We gave all the money we had to the village we had just done some work in in Sindhupalchok. My colleague admitted he was not as confident now that we had given the final large amount of money for goats, chickens and and a gas stove for the locals. Yet here he was committed to kit out all seven boys for the trek to Annapurna Base Camp. I know how much my friend has given to the work in Sindhupalchok so far but here he is giving more.
I am aware that I will probably be called upon to help with taxi fares, food and more. Yet i am on a tight budget. I am unwilling to use credit as i have a large business mortgage to face when i return to Australia. I do not want to be mean amd ungracious but also fo not want to be caught in a web created by another person who I disputed this plan with. I have learned to spend what God gives amd not use credit for anything that does not produce a return.
When faced with this challenge it is easy to become judgemental and selfish and i don't want that. I want to do what is right to do. How to do that and keep a good heart? I wonder! I am seeking.
Today I want to be still, wash and pack for the trek.
