Build Yourselves Up in Prayer


But you, dear friends, as you build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, expecting the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life. save others by snatching them from the fire; have mercy on others but with fear, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.
Jude 1:20‭-‬21‭, ‬23 HCSB

Praying in the Holy Spirit is praying in tongues in our heavenly prayer language. When i am burdened to pray, this is the best way for me to pray as I know it is operating in the spirit. It is powerful and effective. The Spirit knows how to pray and as I pray in the Spirit I partner with Him to do good work.

I grew up reciting certain prayers and that is all I knew. Being born again liberated me to converse with my God. I can go before Him and dance for joy, and know it is ok. I am not separated from Him anymore. My sins have been washed away by the sacrifice of Christ on the cross. I am free.

Being baptised in the Spirit further liberated me and now I can pray all day and not run out of words. He never runs out. When God has a burden to break through in, this is the best way to pray. Yesterday was one of those days.

Fasting is good when you come to pray. It adds power to your prayer. We are saving others, snatching them from the fire when we fast and pray. We are doing God's work when we dedicate ourselves to prayer. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
