He Seeks Me

Therefore, as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, overflowing with gratitude. Be careful that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deceit based on human tradition, based on the elemental forces of the world, and not based on Christ. For the entire fullness of God’s nature dwells bodily in Christ, and you have been filled by Him, who is the head over every ruler and authority. Having been buried with Him in baptism, you were also raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.
Colossians 2:6‭-‬10‭, ‬12 HCSB

When I first became born again, as.knew I had received something new. I was filled with joy unspeakable. Note: I said filled. All my life I had been a Catholic and never had been filled by any rule, regulation or ritual. However, by simply asking Jesus to come into my life I was filled. If I am filled with something, am I not full? If I am full I cannot add to the experience my own rituals.

There were people in the Colassae church who were wanting to add traditions, food regulations, festival participation, worship of angels, circumcision.

Any time we think we are not 'full' of God, we need to spend time seeking Him, and He will fill us anew. I cannot be made guilty because I am not full. Instead, spending time and refreshing myself in Him is all I need. I don't need to do a war dance; cut my body; force myself to fit into a particular mold. All I need to do is seek Him and allow Him to lead the dance. Amen! Simple!

God knows what will refresh my spirit and draw me close to Him. He is vitally interested in our relationship. As any lover, He seeks me out and woos me with all of Him. I am foolish if I think I can add anything but an open and responsive heart.
