Praise the Lord With Your Substance
Then David praised the Lord in the sight of all the assembly. David said, May You be praised, Lord God of our father Israel, from eternity to eternity. Yours, Lord , is the greatness and the power and the glory and the splendor and the majesty, for everything in the heavens and on earth belongs to You. Yours, Lord , is the kingdom, and You are exalted as head over all. Riches and honor come from You, and You are the ruler of everything. Power and might are in Your hand, and it is in Your hand to make great and to give strength to all. Now therefore, our God, we give You thanks and praise Your glorious name.
1 Chronicles 29:10-13 HCSB
In this Chapter 28 of Chronicles, Solomon David's son is being crowned king and David is giving a huge provision for the building of the new temple. This prompts the people to give, and they give large amounts of gold, silver, bronze, iron and precious stones. Then the people rejoiced because they had given with a whole heart.
David then goes on to pray the above prayer. Giving unlocks the heart of praise. This week I have given freely to a need in Nepal and it made me rejoice. My prayer is: give me more Lord so I can give. I love stepping into the flow of God's generosity.
Our God is a generous God. In the spirit there is a river of generosity. It is wide and deep and full of all good things. All the riches are His. All the precious metals are His, the diamonds are His. He is Lord over all! Amen!
Our role is to release the flow by opening the flood gates. I am doing this. I am stepping into micro-financing start-up businesses in Nepal. I must be part of the answer. This is what we are destined for. We are called to rule and reign with Him. We do this as we step out into His river.
As we clothe ourselves with sonship we display the glory of God. His glory is the only glory worth portraying. He alone is good! Amen!
