Oh Taste and See!


Taste and see that the Lord is good. How happy is the man who takes refuge in Him!
Psalms 34:8 HCSB

Our world is full of taste. We are beckoned to try out cars, clothes and food. Advertisers promise all sorts of rewards attached to the taste experience. In the dark recesses Satan lures those caught there with all sorts of evil: drugs, prostitution, all manners of uncleanness. But there is One who also invites us to a life of complete freedom and joy- a relationship with the living God.

I have just returned from Nepal and had the joy of preaching the word of God. In one place I had asked for souls. I was told that this generally does not happen-it did. I had an unsaved Hindu walk in and my message was just for her. In other places I invited the sick to taste His healing. One lady crippled and bent in two received her healing. That was awesome to see. In another place I prayed for a young man lying on the floor- crippled and very sick. I asked him if he knew Jesus, he said no. I introduced him to the healer and saviour. He is starting to feel again and hear the gospel.

I tasted many things in Nepal- a lot of spicy food, a lot of culture but the best was what my God served up to me. How good is He! I can say He is the tastier experience I have ever had. I love many things: art, astronomy Nd making friends but working with Him is the top of the list.

Already the Lord is plotting the next trip. To be on His team is the best. He is the best! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
