Our Strength


Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by His vast strength. Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the tactics of the Devil. For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens. This is why you must take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand. Stand, therefore, with truth like a belt around your waist, righteousness like armor on your chest, and your feet sandaled with readiness for the gospel of peace. In every situation take the shield of faith, and with it you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is God’s word. Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert in this with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints.

Strength is important. There are so many days that I awake with strength because of a disturbed night. However, I put my legs over the side of the bed and say:"I don't have it alprd but you do, so will go in Your strength." I cannot sit in how I feel. I know I must get up and go for a walk. I must go for I pray as so walk and this is important. I pray on the Spirit mostly and think in English.

In a day where we concentrate on getting strength through energy drinks, maintaining strength through exercise, there is one strength we must have and that is His divine strength. Amen!

God's full armour is essential: helmet of salvation, a belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, shoes ready to take the gospel, shield of faith. What sword are we using? Our battle is spiritual, against spiritual wickedness in high places. If we fail to acknowledge any of the weapons at our disposal we are uncovered.


We cannot wear our own belt. Truth must be God's truth in its entirity; our righteousness must be His righteousness or the enemy can penetrate or defences. Many shields of faith are not in use. They are hung on the back, left on the floor but not actively in use. The swords are hung on the wall or stashed in the clothes cupboard. The sword needs to be clean, polished daily and in use.

We deceive ourselves if we fail to use the weapons provided us. We will limp and finally fall. Decide who you are? Are you a Christian? Then be the best you can be! Amen!

Know Your Sword!

So he took Him to Jerusalem, had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, "if you are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here. Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
