Why Do I Love Him?


I love the Lord because He has heard my appeal for mercy. Because He has turned His ear to me, I will call out to Him as long as I live.

Where are we without the Lord? Who can save us? Who protects and counsels us?

The ropes of death were wrapped around me, and the torments of Sheol overcame me; I encountered trouble and sorrow. Then I called on the name of Yahweh: “Yahweh, save me! ”
Psalms 116:3‭-‬4 HCSB

There comes a time when all our efforts fail and the enemy of our souls appears to be winning. Then, in that moment, our hero emerges from the gloom and rescues us from the clutches of death. He is our Superman!

I am facing such a storm and walking towards the Lord: "You alone are my Saviour!" I must find Him in the storm, see Him on the water, hear Him through the howling wind. Only He is God! Only He can save! Amen!

The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is compassionate. The Lord guards the inexperienced; I was helpless, and He saved me. Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.
Psalms 116:5-7

I am so grateful the Lord guards the inexperienced. When I face new challenges, He is there!

Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you. For You, Lord , rescued me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling.

What a good place to be- at rest! A mind free from trouble and anxiety!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
