God's Voice

Jeremiah protested to the Lord saying he was only a youth but the Lord said:
Then the Lord said to me: Do not say, “I am only a youth,” for you will go to everyone I send you to and speak whatever I tell you. Do not be afraid of anyone, for I will be with you to deliver you. This is the Lord ’s declaration. Then the Lord reached out His hand, touched my mouth, and told me: I have now filled your mouth with My words.

God first looks for hearts that are His, then He fills their mouths with His words. In Australia we have a famous older stateswoman called Margaret Court who, in her younger years won 24 grand slams. No-one else has done this yet. Margaret now is a Christian mnister. Recently she took the media by storm by sending a letter to the QANTAS CEO saying: because he openly promotes same sex marriage , she can no longer fly with them. Who leaked her letter to the press? Anyway the media is going wild as in the early 2000 a tennis arena was named after her, because of her outstanding achievements. There are now calls from the howling mob: " Change the name of the arena!' I am sure Margaret does not care. She would more care your name is written in the lamb's book of life.

Yesterday someone I do business with posted such a petition. I questioned his stance openly. Margaret needs her church family support but when I read comments suppodting her, not all are wise or helping her cause. As Christians we can say such stupid things. We must support but do it right. Margaret did Australia proud and won many victories in tennis. We, as a country, honour her for that. If she chooses not to fly QANTAS, that is her stance and her decision. Let's not get messy with our stance. Being defamatory in regard to the proponents of same sex marriage will not help.

As a Christian I know I must offer paths of life to my world, righteousness and truth. I must do this by being as wise as a serpent and as gentle as a dove. At times I must speak out. I must do this as God's servant only not because I have become enraged and ready for a fight. The reason I am here on this earth is to provide salt and light. Amen.
