Shout Triumphantly
Shout triumphantly to the Lord , all the earth. Serve the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. Acknowledge that Yahweh is God. He made us, and we are His — His people, the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and praise His name. For Yahweh is good, and His love is eternal; His faithfulness endures through all generations.
Psalms 100:1-5 HCSB
Two of the conditions for entering the sanctuary of God were praising Him and serving Him joyously.
As a young Christian I grew up singing a chorus around this psalm:
I will enter His gates with thanksgiving in my heart, I will enter His courts with praise, I will say this is the day that the Lord has made I will rejoice for He has made me glad.
Is it me or do we seem to wake with more awareness of problems these days. Perhaps we are so up to date with happenings in the world as soon as we turn on our phones, perhaps we are under attack and perhaps I am getting older and know too much. Whatever the reason I can wake and choose to praise.
Jesus told us we must be like little children in our faith. My pastor has a young daughter who does not recognise NO very well. She goes to her dad expecting a YES. When she receives a NO she is devastated. I like her confidence. This confidence is child-like. What about our confidence? We have heavenly Father who loves us and wants good for us. We have to trust Him for His version of good. Amen!
Put on rejoicing! Put on praise! Amen! Wear them like garments.
