Why Do You Seek Me?

When they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, “Rabbi, when did You get here? ” Jesus answered, “I assure you: You are looking for Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate the loaves and were filled. Don’t work for the food that perishes but for the food that lasts for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal of approval on Him.”

Jesus had just fed the multitude and when they could not find Him on the side of the sea He had been on they went looking. Now Jesus knew they wanted to make Him king but now confronts them with their real motive. Their motive was their flesh. He confronts in a loving way, to bring them to the truth.

Have you had God confront you lately? He is good, gentle and kind. Yet the truth He carries is unending. You cannot manipulate Him, like these folks were trying to do.

Our church starts its prayer and fasting tomorrow and we are in for a good 3 weeks of pray and worship. This is a good time to have a reality check. Here we Go!
