Frames of Refetence

All a man’s ways seem right to him, but the Lord evaluates the motives.
Proverbs 16:2 HCSB

We are so caught within our own frame of reference we believe it is right. However, God and wise others sit outside our frame of reference and see differently. The more insecure we are the more we become cross with a lack of acceptance of our judgements and ideas.

We often see on the news where an offender receives, what we consider, a light sentence for a henious crime. Tonight, for example, a young woman was only given 2 years jail for driving under the influence of drugs and killing an 11 year old boy. We were not in the court and did not hear all the deliberations and evidence. We would judge this as too lenient. We might be right and then again we may not.

In the decisions we make about our work ethic, relationship ethics and so on, we have our own bias. Yet God's word tells us to live by God's standards and His judgements, them and only then will we be truly right. Amen!

The Lord looks within! Remember that!
