Dont Throw it All Away!

Remember those early days after you first saw the light? Those were the hard times! Kicked around in public, targets of every kind of abuse—some days it was you, other days your friends. If some friends went to prison, you stuck by them. If some enemies broke in and seized your goods, you let them go with a smile, knowing they couldn’t touch your real treasure. Nothing they did bothered you, nothing set you back. So don’t throw it all away now. You were sure of yourselves then. It’s still a sure thing! But you need to stick it out, staying with God’s plan so you’ll be there for the promised completion. It won’t be long now, he’s on the way; he’ll show up most any minute. But anyone who is right with me thrives on loyal trust; if he cuts and runs, I won’t be very happy. But we’re not quitters who lose out. Oh, no! We’ll stay with it and survive, trusting all the way.
Hebrews 10:32‭-‬39 MSG

I come away with the question: what is my real treasure? We have so many ideals thrust upon us through social media, we can be prone to feel sorry for ourselves and think we are missing out. Tonight I was thinking of the people all over this planet I live on, each in their own little world and each troubled by our own view of things. However, I love my family, my neighborhood and my city. I am grateful I live right where I do, even though we are in drought.

If God is my treasure, surely having Him first and my neighbor second and me last will make me happy. It is not what I own or wear, the colour of my hair or my chair but it is my God and His heart that must be dear, it's clear.

Remember the Lord's prayer: 'may Your kingdom come, Your will be done!' When God put Adam and Eve on the planet, it was to rule and reign His way. Let's see what ruling and resigning His way looks like! Amen!
