Light Not Grump
Brothers, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead, I pursue as my goal the prize promised by God’s heavenly call in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:13-14 HCSB
My life as a Christian is a journey. I am on the way to my eternal home. On the way there I have a commission: share the good news.
There are times I look at my behaviour and am not too impressed. I stop and think how others would see what I have done and said. Tonight I took my mum grocery shopping. I had just finished uni and mum agreed to go, yet she was struggling. When we arrived at the checkout mum offered to go and collect a spare trolley and I was already concerned for her but I said:"no mum I just dont want to have to pick you up off the floor." I then realised that those around me might wonder at what I said. Mum has not long recovered from a stroke and she is still a little unsteady on her feet and we did not take her walker. Mum and I know and understand but the way I spoke could have been misunderstood.
My job is to shine light not grump. Grump upsets people and light brings life.
