The Greatest Love
This is My command: Love one another as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this, that someone would lay down his life for his friends.
John 15:12-13 HCSB
Laying down my life for my friends is the greatest act of love I can do. What does laying down my life look like? Giving up me, mine and my for you, yours and your. In my life that could equate to my opinion about you and what you should do. I can tend to think I know best at times. At times I do but you should be you.
In my field of knowledge, finance, if someone complains about 'having' to give to others, I tend to challenge them. However, the problem is not what they give or who they give to. Why do they complain and act like a victim? If I am called to give my life for my mum, my neighbors and my city, then giving us a part of being in Christ. It is natural.
Having mum live with me carries constraints but I love it. I am honoured to care for my mum, I enjoy what I do. We have fun together. I see her becoming frail and know her time here is not long. What does that look like? Having been a nurse I know what it could look like but as I care, in faith, He provides and keeps her. I can trust Him!
We must abide in the vine. The vine as the answers. Amen!
