The Past

For whatever was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that we may have hope through endurance and through the encouragement from the Scriptures.

Reading the bible we find people, lots of people who we will meet again one day. Having a study plan of the bible is good. This year I am going through the whole bible in the year. Already I am seeing the detail given to the children of Israel around sacrifices. I have met many of the saints of old and at the same time studying Jesus in the gospels. Jesus was the perfect sacrifice.

Knowing how others walked and how God was involved in their lives is important. We must live aware so that we can learn from this great cloud of witnesses who are cheering us on. (Hebrews 12:1) we can assume what we experience is unique until we read history. The bible is also history.

Our bible tells us what faith looks like. We don't need to wonder, it is all there for us. So make a plan to read and be encouraged. Amen!
