Yielding
A white-tailed deer drinks from the creek; I want to drink God, deep draughts of God. I’m thirsty for God-alive. I wonder, “Will I ever make it— arrive and drink in God’s presence?” I’m on a diet of tears— tears for breakfast, tears for supper. All day long people knock at my door, Pestering, “Where is this God of yours?” Psalm 42:1-3 MSG
I am reminded of a scripture in song chorus we sang way back when. It was taken from this psalm. Part said: you alone are my strength, my shield, to You alone will my spirit yield...
Yielding is something we are not good at, yet an attribute the Lord looks for. Yielding is important for our soul. As we yield control we see God surprise us. Take it from me, His surprises are best. Amen!
