He humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. Philippians 2:8 NLT
Jesus knew who He was-the Son of God. He even said to His disciples who rushed to defend Him in the garden of Gethsemane that He could command legions of angels but that He must face the cross.
Jesus had prayed that God would release Him from the cross, three times. He prayed, "Is there no other way? Yet not My will but Your will be done." This shows He knew it would be hard.
Making a stand for Christ is not easy in many areas of the world. In China persecution is rising, in Nigeria Christians are being slaughtered. Until now Christian's in the west were safe. Now the gloves are off. The extreme left are out for blood. Anyone who opposes abortion, same sex marriage, transgenderism, paedophilia are considered the enemy.
One of our top footballers has losing his contract for a posting on social media. He was making a stand and spelled out what scripture said would happen to all workers of evil without Christ. His stance was very bold and in your face, not one many of us would be accused with.
The line has been drawn in the sand. Which side will you stand on? What are you willing to normalize to be safe? What will you face for truth? What would God have you do? Is you light under a bushel?
Jesus said: "He who is ashamed of Me and My words I will be ashamed of Him when I come in Glory." Like 9:26.
What will you do?
