It is Finished

After this, when Jesus knew that everything was now accomplished that the Scripture might be fulfilled, He said, “I’m thirsty! ” A jar full of sour wine was sitting there; so they fixed a sponge full of sour wine on hyssop and held it up to His mouth. When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished! ” Then bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. John 19:28‭-‬30 HCSB

According to John, who was at the cross, the last thing Jesus did before He died was give His mother to John to be cared for.

Jesus was the eldest son and as Jospeh was dead, Jesus was making provision for His mother.

Jesus then said: "I thirst!" They have him a gall and wild herbs drink and then He said: "It is finished!"

What was finished? He had paid the price for sin. As the perfect sacrifice, Son of God, Son of man, man without sin. The power of sin had been broken.

Through Jesus we can now walk free from sin's stranglehold. If we believe we are caught we believe a lie, we have, in fact, been set free.

Thank You Jesus!

Prayer: Jesus, I believe! You have set me free from sin and given me a new life. I accept it now. Amen!
