Powerful Gospel

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is God’s power for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16

Paul had seen this power in his own life. He had been transformed from a zealous Pharisee persecuting new believers in Christ to becoming one himself. It would have been like a zealous Muslim converting to christianity.

What made him change? An unplanned meeting. He was on his way to Damascus when suddenly he was struck off his horse by a blinding light and the voice of the One he stood against. Immediately Paul repented and his heart opened to change. He was blind for two days until the Lord's servant came, in fear and trembling, to pray for him to receive back his sight. Paul was a transformed man.

Paul then went away to spend time with the Lord to get to know this One. He was being called to use all his energy to preach the gospel to the Greek speaking world. This was an amazing turnaround. Jews did not associate with Greeks but a transformed man did.

Have you been transformed? I have! I was a Catholic who believed Catholicism was the only way. But Jesus came to me and spoke to me. I was blind and could not see truth. He sent me to one who would pray for me for my eyes to be opened, and they were. Having had this grace in my life I am compelled to share it with others. How about you?

Take this treasure to the hungry, blind and hurting. You have the source of life inside of you. Share it! Amen!
