The King who comes in the name of the Lord is the blessed One. Peace in heaven and glory in the highest heaven! Luke 19:38 HCSB
What the people are shouting comes from Psalm 118:26 with the word 'King' inserted for He. Lazarus had just been raised from the dead. This would have been a heady experience.
Jesus, alone, knew His path. The disciples and the crowd wanted a king. They, along with most of Israel, saw prophesy fulfillment in Jesus being the 'king' not saviour from their sins.
Jesus had a higher priority. He needed us to see the need for saviour from sin as our eternal relationship with Him was paramount.
Today, we cannot tell Jesus how He should move in our lives. Learning to trust Him in all is what He is developing in our lives. Amen!
